Rula is an inclusive, ethical mental healthcare company redefining the mental healthcare system to improve accessibility, affordability, and quality of care.
We make it easier for our providers to deliver exceptional, high-quality care, all at no cost to them.
Contracted Providers have total caseload and schedule control, with no minimum hours or caseload required. They can focus on delivering care while we handle all the administrative heavy lifting, such as client insurance, billing, and marketing. Rula has a diverse, supportive clinical community, so providers feel they’re not working on an island.
For therapy, Rula provides:
- Individual
- Couples
- Family
- Any modality based on your theoretical orientation and training
For psychiatry, Rula provides medication management with board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners or psychiatrists.
We support a diverse client population across age, race, gender, and language. Specifically:
- Age: Clients who are 5 years and older for therapy, and 13 and older for psychiatric services*
- Language: We offer free translation services for patients in over 100 languages
*Availability for clients <18 may vary by state.
The vast majority of sessions are held virtually; however, if you and your client prefer to hold your sessions in person, you are more than welcome to do so.

Partnering with Rula as an independent contractor is completely free, with no minimum hours or caseload requirements. Our providers have the freedom to decide their client caseload and schedule.
We help attract clients for your practice through direct to consumer marketing and referrals from our insurance partners. We also handle and fund the marketing of your profile online, helping clients find you faster.
For new providers, we gather information about their specialties and the client populations they'd like to serve. Similarly, for new clients, we collect details regarding the services they are seeking, along with their preferences for a provider's race, gender, language abilities, and treatment specialties.
Clients then receive a tailored list of providers that are covered by insurance to choose from. If you feel a client isn't the right fit after the first visit, Rula will ensure they're rematched for the care they need.We provide a HIPAA-compliant EHR system designed to support your practice. It includes features for conducting telehealth appointments, messaging clients, documentation, and more.
We do the heavy lifting here. Rula collects all copays and coinsurance from clients through our invoicing system, including miss or canceled appointments. We’ll verify client benefits, submit claims, and handle insurance disputes.
Providers still get paid even if a client no-shows, cancels at the last minute, or an insurance claim is denied. Patients are charged a fee to discourage no-shows and late cancellations.
You may bill for designated CPT codes in our payor contracts (ie. 90792, 99214, 90833, 99205, 90791). You may also bill clients directly for non-billable services (i.e., ESA letters, court/probation paperwork, worker’s comp, letter writing) if you make arrangements directly with the client outside of Rula.
You will be paid every other Friday (biweekly) via direct deposit for each completed session you hold within the pay period.
