Hi there, I'm Victoria!

I believe in providing a nonjudgmental person-centered approach to assisting with decreasing dysfunctional behaviors at home, in the community, and school. I work to meet clients where they are and help them find better ways to cope with situations causing disruptions in their daily lives.

My approach

My approach to therapy involves using cognitive behavioral techniques, as I believe thoughts are directly tied to behaviors. Once we are able to identify irrational thoughts, we can start to learn more positive functional behaviors to respond to uncomfortable situations.

My focus

I focus on working with clients on an individual vs cookie cutter perspective. I do this by listening to them and helping them gain insight into understanding how their behaviors play a major role in shaping their future.

My communication style

I communicate in a way that is nonjudgmental and person-centered, aiming to meet clients where they are. I listen attentively to adolescent clients to help them gain self-awareness of the impact of their behaviors.

My journey to mental healthcare

From August 2007 to November 2011, I completed clinical hours for licensure at the Boys and Girls Club of the Gulf Coast New Hope Program in Gulfport, Mississippi. This experience solidified my passion for helping youth navigate challenges and develop coping skills. From July 1999 to October 2003, I worked as an adult probation officer and learned I had a passion and gift for dealing with the harder-to-reach clients that experienced mental health and substance abuse issues.

My goals for you

My goal for you is to decrease dysfunctional behaviors, improve your ability to cope with challenging situations and gain a clearer understanding of how your thoughts and behaviors shape your experiences. I aim to empower you with tools and insights for positive change.

My first session with you

Will be a laid-back, relaxing conversation to discuss what brings you to therapy and ways we can make things easier to live with.
