Hi, my name is Samantha Gordon and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. In my practice, I focus on helping others to manage issues related to relationships with themselves and others, family dynamics, body image, disordered eating, eating disorders, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and all that goes along with this.
My approach
I believe that the relationship you have with yourself and others impacts the way you navigate through life. That’s why I’m passionate about empowering clients and their families to feel more connected to themselves, each other, and their life. I work collaboratively with clients, using their strengths to facilitate growth. I help clients identify solutions using tools they already own through Solution-Focused Therapy, explore parts of themselves through Internal Family Systems, process previous traumas that contribute to their worldview through Cognitive Processing Therapy, and reframe their stories through Narrative Therapy.

My communication style
I set the tone in sessions by approaching the conversation with curiosity and humility. As Gen Z would say, I try to "vibe" with them and meet them where they are at every single session.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was attracted to a career in therapy because I have also been a client in therapy for most of my life! I believe that every great therapist has a great therapist, and this is absolutely true for me. Those that have supported me also inspire me to persevere in this challenging profession, and there is nothing more fulfilling to me than to support someone else's growth.
My goals for you
I approach goal setting with clients by helping them to identify "solutions" instead of "problems" and decide how to attain these specific, measurable, achievable, and realistic solutions in a certain amount of time, which is determined collaboratively. I will routinely check-in with clients to ensure that what is being discussed is working towards their goals.

During the first session, I will have an open-ended conversation that will help my clients and I get to know each other and gain comfortability.
