Hi there, I'm Kelley!

Hello, I’m Kelley. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I believe that life stress, worry, loss, anxiety, and depression can affect almost anyone. I look forward to hearing about you and offering support as we work towards your goals.

My approach

I offer a collaborative, supportive approach to discussing the concerns that are the most important to you. I often use elements from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. These methods can be helpful as we consider ideas and approaches to assist with your stressors and life goals.

My focus

I have worked with people of all ages, from children age 5 to people over 100. In particular, I have enjoyed helping people overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, and/or loss. My professional experience includes providing case management and counseling to Veterans, people recovering from chemical and behavioral addictions, and people with chronic or terminal illness. I often provide counseling to people struggling with significant life changes such as the loss of a relationship, an important life goal, or a loved one.

My communication style

People often come to therapy to discuss difficult topics and learn more about happiness and human behavior. Many times, people are seeking new approaches to improve self-confidence or how they respond in stressful situations. I believe I use a relaxed communication style with active listening to try to enhance patient comfort and allow people to express their thoughts openly.

My journey to mental healthcare

I focused on becoming a therapist after a close friend went through a difficult time, but found many helping professionals to be judgmental and unsupportive. My background in social work taught me how significantly people can be affected by their own thoughts, the world around them, as well as the connection they have to others in their lives. I aim to be a supportive, non-judgmental listener.

My goals for you

To start with, I often ask what might be most important to a person. Do you have long-term or short-term goals? Would you like to address in each session?

My first session with you

During a first session, it is important to discuss some basic information on your history, current support system, as well as any medical/mental health history and symptoms. What are you most interested in discussing and working on?
