Good Day, I'm Charron. Happiness is an inside job. My name is Charron Brasher, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), currently practicing in the state of Texas via telehealth. I work with young and older adults, specializing in depression, anxiety, work/life balance, family, and relationship challenges, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy to assist clients in achieving their happiness.
My approach
My approach to therapy differs based on the needs of the client. I believe in meeting clients where they are at. Employing the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy as a guide to understanding the client's concerns and assisting them with working towards and reaching a healthier and more balanced mental status.
My focus
I have discovered over the years that my style and approach are a good fit for young and older adults, as they are attempting to manage a multitude of changes and challenges in their daily lives, in addition to unresolved issues from the past that contribute to depression, anxiety, marital issues, and family conflict.
My communication style
My communication style is supportive and empathic. The foundation of a good therapeutic relationship is trust, this cannot be accomplished if the clients feel that they are being judged.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always wanted to help others, which is why I became a therapist. I fundamentally believe that when you feel better about yourself you do better overall. Growing up people would frequently tell me their problems. I would assist in helping them find a solution or sometimes just allow them the opportunity to just "get it off their chest". I did not realize at the time that I was in training for my purpose... to help others.
My goals for you
My approach is to help others to be the best versions of themselves while learning coping skills to assist them with staying on their path to mental wellness as they face life challenges. As we explore your concerns, I encourage you to set your mental goals and allow me to assist you in reaching those goals.
My first session with you
During the first session, I like for you to ask as many questions as you can, share at your comfort level, and work on building a rapport with me. It takes a lot of courage to open up to a stranger therefore I allow you to set the pace initially.
