Charles Plafcan, and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor I take all approaches in the here and now, and I try to help my clients focus on what they can do NOW and achieve the results they need to improve their lives. We call this solution-focused.
My approach
I use an Eclectic Approach which includes Solution Focused, Existential Psychology, and Positive Psychology therapies.
My focus
I like all clients of any age. Please be ready for me just to be there and ask you questions from the start. I am very person-centered and will not be asking you to do a bunch of homework except just thinking about the things we talk about.
My communication style
You will feel very involved with me and in the present. I will not be asking you a bunch of questions and filling out paperwork as we talk. I want you to feel very open, and with us, in the present moment to work on any issues you bring to our session
My journey to mental healthcare
I started with my BA degree in Psychology, and then many years went by before I completed my MA in Professional Counseling. I have strong faith and was in the Seminary for Catholic Priest for 2 years of college. I have a strong interest in aging and helping families and aging persons. I am very open to working with all age groups. I just prefer working one on one.
My goals for you
My goal is a no guilt form of therapy. Let's just put our heads together and see what we can do to make this better.
My first session with you
Total listening and total involvement from me, the therapist. I want to be there where you are at the moment with no strings attached and just work with you right here and right now
