My name is Nicki Holtzman and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor here in Texas. I work primarily with teenagers and adults who are struggling with anxiety and depression. I hope to help each person become the best version of themselves.
My approach
Using skills training and cognitive behavioral approaches, I help clients reframe their situations. With problem-solving and processing feelings in a safe, therapeutic environment clients can learn effective ways of coping.
My focus
I typically work with adults and teens who are struggling with anxiety and depression. Additionally, I have experience working with divorce, abuse, and transgender issues.
My communication style
I believe that I create an environment that is warm and feels safe. I am very down to earth and clients find it easy to interact with me. I am not afraid to ask the hard questions, and I am respectful of what those answers may be.
My journey to mental healthcare
I feel that we all have the innate ability to heal ourselves, we just need some guidance. I love helping people and encouraging people to be the best versions of themselves.
My goals for you
I ask the client what is important to them, what would they like to work on, and what they hope to achieve from counseling.
My first session with you
During the first session, I am gathering history and background information. I ask why they are seeking counseling now, and what they hope to gain from it.
