Hi! My name is Crystal Bradley, and I'm an LCSW licensed in New York State (License #079339), with 20 years of experience in the mental health field. My experience includes supporting individuals experiencing symptoms of depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety, as well as those experiencing life transitions and work-related stress. I find it so fulfilling to help my clients reduce their emotional pain, and improve their quality of life! I bring a person-centered, collaborative approach to the work.
My approach
It's important that you and your therapist are a good fit. I believe that emotional discomfort and pain are just as real as physical pain and can affect all areas of your life. Within a trusting therapeutic relationship, I support my clients in learning more about themselves, problem-solving, exploring, healing, and growing. I feel comfortable utilizing a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, and working together as a team with my client to identify the most effective strategy to accomplish their personal goals.
My focus
Are you feeling overwhelmed, and like your life is out of balance? Maybe you get so anxious and sad that it's negatively impacting your relationships, your health, and your sleep. Perhaps life gets so overwhelming at times that you think about giving up. You know that’s not the answer, but you feel alone with these feelings. You’re scared of what others may think, or don’t want to burden people with your problems. Maybe you’ve recently gone through a significant life change, like a move, starting college or a new job, ending a relationship, or having a baby, and this change has shaken your confidence. Do you want to understand why you’re scared of making mistakes and try to be perfect? You want to stop feeling like it’s never enough. You want to stop comparing yourself, including on social media, to other people. You want to feel good enough.
My communication style
I'm passionate about creating a safe and validating environment during the therapeutic relationship, in which you will feel comfortable sharing honestly without fear of judgment or criticism. I find joy in developing a trusting relationship with you in which you will feel safe, heard, understood, cared for, and validated.
My first session with you
I begin our first session by providing a space for you to share your experiences, and work collaboratively to establish your goals for treatment. One of the purposes of a first appointment is to make sure we’re a good fit for one another. It's an opportunity for you to ensure you feel comfortable working with me. It will also allow me to get to know you and what you’re struggling with.
