My name is Angeline Walker, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the state of North Carolina. I have over 20 years of counseling experience. I have worked with clients with concerns that include depression, stress, anxiety, trauma, abuse, and relationship and self-esteem issues.
My approach
My technique combines cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, a solution-focused approach, motivational interviewing, and client-centered counseling. Our dialog and your treatment plan will be adapted to meet your unique and specific needs.
My focus
I have helped children, adolescents, and adults discover new skills and healthy coping strategies to overcome trauma, stress, anxiety, and depression.
My communication style
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe that everyone has a need to be heard without judgment. As a result, I practice active listening, treating everyone with respect, dignity, sensitivity, and compassion. I acknowledge the amount of courage it takes to recognize the need to pursue a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps toward change.
My journey to mental healthcare
I believe that everyone deserves to live a healthier happier life. When a person is ready to take that first step, I want them to know that they do not have to take that step alone. I am here to provide support and empowerment. I look forward to cheering my clients on as they turn over a new leaf and embark on a healthier pathway.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting is very strength-based and solution-focused. My clients and I work together to discuss goals, steps to achieve them, possible barriers, and possible solutions to those barriers.
My first session with you
During our first session together, we will discuss therapy goals. Next, we will discuss a treatment plan to meet your specific needs.
