Hello! I am an organizational psychology doctoral candidate and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with 20+ yrs behavioral health expertise & 15+ yrs leadership experience. I hold multiple certifications and have specific niches that encompass my love for helping others embrace life and navigate change!
My approach
The approaches I use in sessions focus on meeting an individual where they are, and for what they need and want. Some standard practices include Coaching & Counseling, Change Management, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Behavior Change, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.
My focus
I am passionate about helping motivated individuals (18+) reach their self-defined successes through goal-oriented performance/executive coaching and counseling for occupational compassion fatigue, stress, burnout, & anxiety. The adults that I work with often hold high-profile roles, are leaders in their field and encounter the challenges of being high performers.
My communication style
We could work very well together if you are looking for a transformational, authentic clinician and welcome a professionally accountable environment to help you grow & step out of your comfort zone to be the best version of you.
My journey to mental healthcare
I knew I wanted to be a counselor/psychologist when I was in the eighth grade. I have always been fascinated by the human brain and how people experience the world around them. I have studied psychology and human behavior formally for over 20 years, and informally, all of my life. During the last 15 years in leadership roles, my passion for psychology in the workplace grew. I love helping others reach their fullest potential, and many times this can result from small behavioral changes that have a huge positive impact! Additionally, I am unique in that I love change. Through the years, I have seen so many individuals get stuck simply because of change and the accompanying stress, that I have dedicated a great deal of my time to helping others embrace it to get unstuck. I truly am the happiest when I get to help others be their best selves.
My goals for you
Goal setting starts with each individual. By understanding the unique challenges at hand, together I work with others to identify the areas of primary impact, and where each individual is willing to start. In each session, we will continue to assess and explore that you are making progress where you want, and adjust any changes that may arise during the process.
My first session with you
The initial session will be a time to gather the individual's presenting needs and the history associated with why they are seeking services. In this session, we will identify a couple of key focus points to build a treatment plan which we will then use as a working document during the course of each session. Individuals will be treated with compassion, listening, and engagement while offering any additional information that they might need to ensure we are a good fit to work together.
