Hi there, I'm Morgan!

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in the state of Illinois. I have worked with a variety of populations since 2015 when I first started as an advocate for domestic violence survivors. Most recently, I have worked with children and adults dealing with various life-changing situations, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and ADHD, just to name a few. I've worked in a community-based non-profit setting, a school setting, and a private practice setting. My most utilized approaches with clients are client-centered and solution-focused therapies. When working with clients, I always try to meet you where you are at. Therapy can be intimidating, and it takes a lot of courage to talk to someone about things that you are struggling with. I believe that everyone has the capability to change their situation, whether big or small. I am excited to meet you and talk about what goals or expectations you have when it comes to therapy and how I can help you reach those goals.

My approach

I most often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my approach to therapy, but I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. I also use Solution-Focused Therapy and Strengths-Based Therapy as well.

My focus

My ideal client would know that therapy can be a lot of work, and it is the work that is done outside of therapy that matters the most. I care for my clients, and I want the best for them. I will do my best to be their "guide," but I also want them to feel confident enough to advocate for themselves in everyday situations.

My communication style

I do my best to meet clients where they are at. Therapy is a team effort, and it is only successful when both parties are invested in its success! I always give my clients the opportunity to tell me about their stressors at the beginning of every session. I do my best to guide conversations in the most productive way possible.

My journey to mental healthcare

When I went to college, I double majored in business administration and Psychology. After going into the business field after college, I tried human services. I worked at a domestic violence shelter, where I knew I needed to help people for a living. It gave me a sense of purpose, and I knew I was doing something good for others. Since that time, I've worked with a wide variety of populations, and I know that I love providing therapy. I love seeing the progress that my clients achieve, and I love helping them see how capable they are of living fulfilling lives.

My goals for you

My ultimate goal is to teach and guide my clients so they feel well-prepared and capable enough to cope with their stressors on their own eventually. In the end, I want my clients to feel they only need therapy for "maintenance" rather than survival.

My first session with you

Our first session will consist of me getting to know you as a person. We will talk about your biological, family, social, and psychological history. I also want to give you the opportunity to get to know me too and my style of communication to make sure it is a good fit for you too.
