Hi there, I'm Diana!

My name is Diana Foltz, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Florida and working with individuals via Telehealth. I work with adolescents to geriatrics and have experience with all age groups with specialties in anxiety & mood disorders, grief/loss issues, traumatic stress (acute or post), and help with adjusting to major life changes using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and trauma-informed care, including experience with EMDR.

My approach

My therapy approach varies based on the needs of each client I work with. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy with a Strengths-Based Approach, as both modalities help me and the client build a shared understanding of their reality and allow us to work together to chart a path forward based on the strengths of the client.

My focus

I have found that my style and focus is a good fit for adolescents, young and middle-aged adults, as well as seniors and geriatric populations that are dealing with life changes, social pressures, grief/loss, and individuals newly diagnosed with depressive disorders and stress/anxiety. I work to help my clients navigate these transition periods and to build skills to allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook on life.

My communication style

My communication style is calm, accommodating, and focused on the individual needs of those I am working with. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking to me about anything, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment. I want my clients to feel heard and supported while in counseling.

My journey to mental healthcare

I changed my career in my mid-thirties by going back and getting my Masters's in Clinical Social Work because I wanted to help others to feel better and get back to their optimal functioning after going through some type of life transition. I also enjoy seeing individuals return to optimal functioning after going through symptoms of depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, and grief reactions to loss. It is satisfying to me when I see individuals feel better and return to optimal functioning to where they are successfully discharged.

My goals for you

I use a person-centered approach when working with a client to set their individual goals and objectives. During that first session, a client will bring up what they want to work on once they have built some trust and rapport with me. We can then track progress on the work completed on the goals and objectives by reviewing them together over time.

My first session with you

The first session with me is about building a connection, trust and for me to spend time getting to know you as a person so that I can get a better understanding of your feelings, needs, goals, and objectives moving forward.
