Not currently accepting patients

Hi there, I'm Aliya!

Hello, my name is Aliya! First, congratulations on your step toward change! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor serving the Sunshine State of Florida. I am passionate about assisting those in this journey of life as they work toward the future they envision for themselves.

My approach

My approach to therapy is strength-based, skill-building, and solution-focused. Client-centered and cognitive behavioral interventions are utilized for success at any stage of life. Interventions can be modified to adapt to the client's needs and capabilities. This allows adjustment during the therapeutic process or to address new challenges.

My focus

I have extensive successful experience working with preteens, adolescents, and adults of any age who may be struggling with emotional challenges of life or searching for balance and purpose. This may present as depression, anxiety, stress, behavior changes, life transitions, employment challenges, grief and loss, anger, parenting conflict, suicidality and self-harming behaviors, intrapersonal and interpersonal conflicts, relationship challenges, self-esteem issues, racial trauma and adjustment issues.

My communication style

It is all about you! Let's talk. Would you rather draw, journal, or utilize your gifts such as poetry to communicate your thoughts and feelings? This is your platform to express your innermost thoughts and challenges. Creating an open, non-judgmental environment allows people to feel heard while using their already-established strengths. Your safety and confidence are most valuable in this process.

My journey to mental healthcare

I started this journey not with any plans of being a therapist but trying to navigate my own struggles as a young mother. In pursuit to answer questions, I sought out on trying to understand and identify the needs in my own community. I began volunteering so I could learn firsthand the desire of all to be a better person, no matter the stage or age. Then I gained education and worked on multiple levels as my journey of becoming a therapist unfolded in front of me. Assisting people toward their ideal self has become a passion of mine toward not only for my own success as a therapist but more so for the people I work with! Life is a journey we are not to do alone.

My goals for you

My approach to goals is TEAM! You and I are a Team, creating established trust is the foundation toward success. Goals can change from the initial session to the third or fifth session. My sole purpose is to help you navigate your reality toward your desired outcome which may mean including other Team members or providers if that is medical, social worker, case management, or psychiatry if applicable. The ultimate goal is to achieve your idea of success, and use any and all resources to get you there! The therapeutic process may not be easy and present its own challenges, but manageable when you have clear and identifiable goals. As we progress, we will make sure we are on target and modify as needed.

My first session with you

The first session is critical in establishing your understanding of the area of concern; answering the question, "what brings you to therapy?". This is your opportunity to describe what and how you are experiencing your world and how that may differ from your desired outcome. As a Team, we will always work to make sure we are going in the direction toward success. At the end of the session, we will be on the same page as to what direction we take going forward. Everyone is different and has their own set of challenges, my goal is to ensure you feel heard, understood, and confident with this process.
