Jerry Kuhn

My name is Jerry Kuhn and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Englewood, Florida. I work with clients locally in person and statewide via telehealth. I work with adolescents and adults and specialize in anxiety, stress, and trauma, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused and Trauma-Focused Therapy to facilitate change, create goals and overall just feel better.

My approach

My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client I work with. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused, as both modalities help me and the client build a shared understanding of their reality, and allow us to work together to chart a path forward.

My focus

I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for teens and adults who may be dealing with the challenges of life transitions and social pressures. This often takes the form of anxiety, depression, stress, and in many cases, a result of a past traumatic experience. I work to help my clients navigate these transition periods and to build skills to allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook on life.

My communication style

My communication style is calm, accommodating, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment. I live and work near the beach and love to incorporate beach life as a way to connect with my clients.

My goals for you

Goal-setting is a significant part of the therapeutic process and once my clients are comfortable with my style and approach, we set goals together and carve out a plan to meet these goals.
