Welcome, my name is Robyn, and I have been working in mental health for 25 years helping children, individuals, families, and couples work through the challenges that come with life! Whether you are suffering from anxiety, depression, or any other mental health concern, you never have to be alone with it. I strive to support you to build upon your own personal strengths to overcome life challenges to find happiness, joy, and more fulfilling relationships.
My approach
My therapeutic modalities are eclectic given the particular situation. I am trained in Cognitive Behavior and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Family Systems Therapy with a strength-based, client-centered approach. The warmth, attunement, and understanding I have for my clients, help me to create a connection of trust and respect within the therapeutic environment.
My focus
I have extensive experience with children, adolescents, and adults from 7 years well into adulthood. I have experience with addiction and recovery and a wide variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and behavioral issues to name a few. I also work with couples and am able to quickly identify dynamics present in relationships while supporting both parties.
My communication style
The environment I create in sessions with clients is one of warmth, caring, and inviting for people to share sometimes the most difficult things to share with another person. My ability to truly connect with others is very much a strength for me and is the feedback I am often given and grateful for.
My goals for you
My approach to counseling is very much team-oriented and the goals are decided by you. I might have suggestions for you throughout our time together that are presented in a respectful and compassionate way.
My first session with you
Over the years, my clients have told me that I listen very carefully. They feel I join well with them and my style is compassionate, supportive, and encouraging. My passion for this field is well communicated during our time together. I also consider myself to be an out-of-the-box thinker which strengthens my practice.
