My name is Kacee Mottola. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I work with clients statewide via telehealth. I use a collaborative approach to promote increased insight and compassion for yourself and others, a stronger sense of self, personal empowerment, and inner peace. My focus areas include anxiety, depression, aging, grief and loss, relationships, and work-related stress.
My approach
I work with clients as a team and tailor treatment according to each client's needs and goals. I use elements from different approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, existential therapy, client-centered therapy, and attachment theory.
My focus
I work with adults of all ages who are coping with a stressful event or change in circumstances. I treat individuals with anxiety, mood disorders, and stress-related disorders.
My communication style
My goal is to create a caring, supportive, and trusting relationship with each client. I strive to create a space where clients can be themselves, feel free of judgment, and feel understood and appreciated.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to go back to school in my late 20s after working in the legal field. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with my master's degree in Social Work in 2010 and started my career working with individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Whether providing crisis intervention or ongoing therapy, I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of a person's healing process.
My goals for you
My approach to goal-setting is to partner with clients to identify what they are seeking to gain from our time together. Though it can be challenging at times, my hope is that clients will find therapy a rewarding and fulfilling experience.
My first session with you
Finding a therapist with whom a client feels comfortable is a critical component of therapy. In our first session, clients can expect me to ask questions to better understand what has inspired them to seek therapy. The purpose of the first session is for us to get to know each other. Therefore, I encourage the client to feel free to ask questions to help them decide whether I am the right fit.
