Hi, I'm Gina! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Wisconsin who works with clients via telehealth. I have a passion for supporting clients through the challenges and life changes they may experience in life. I work mainly with the 18 years and older population and use a person-centered, holistic, and eclectic approach.
My approach
I use several different therapy depending on what needs the client has. I most often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy as a treatment as these therapies allow the member and myself to gain a better understanding of how to work towards their goals.
My focus
I mostly work with members who are age 18 and older. I work with a variety of conditions including depression, change of life, stress, school, anxiety, job, anxiety, and disability-related issues.
My communication style
My communication style tends to be open, understanding, and supportive. I don't judge and want my clients to know that I accept them for who they are.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have known I wanted to work as a therapist since I was about 7 years old. I graduated from UW-Stout in 2004 with my Masters in Counseling. I interned at UW-Stout and Mayo Clinic. I have worked as a counselor for the State of Wisconsin DVR specializing in a behavioral health caseload. I also have worked as a Case Manager for 7 plus years with with the critical behavioral health population doing personal and telehealth care to stabilize members.
My goals for you
I believe that therapy and the goals set in therapy are for the client. I will work with the client to set these goals and track progress toward these goals while working with the client.
My first session with you
During the first session with the client, I like to get to know the client better by asking questions. This allows me to better understand where the client is currently at and what the client wants to work on moving forward in future sessions.
