Hi there, I'm Ebony!

I am Dr. Ebony Blue, LPC-S (Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor) a trauma-informed, educator, resilient mom, black woman, and self-care advocate who has always been deeply passionate about helping women navigate their mental health journey.

My approach

As a trauma-informed and board-certified mental health therapist, my approach is rooted in empathy, cultural competence, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by Black women. I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions freely. My therapeutic style integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to tailor interventions that meet the individual needs of my clients.

My focus

I specialize in supporting Black women through their mental health journeys, with a strong emphasis on addressing trauma, anxiety, and burnout. My work also extends to promoting personal growth and resilience, helping clients navigate complex life transitions, and empowering them to heal from within.

My communication style

In my sessions, I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and safe environment where clients feel genuinely seen and heard. I approach therapy with a deep sense of empathy and understanding, ensuring that each person knows they are in a non-judgmental space where they can express themselves openly. My tone is calm, compassionate, and supportive, helping clients feel comfortable enough to explore their thoughts and emotions. Working with me feels like being in a space where you can breathe deeply and let go of the burdens you carry. I focus on creating a collaborative relationship, where clients are empowered to take an active role in their healing journey. I balance this supportive atmosphere with gentle yet clear guidance, helping clients navigate through difficult emotions and experiences with the assurance that they are not alone. Overall, my aim is to foster a sense of trust, safety, and hope, allowing clients to feel validated and motivated to pursue their personal growth and healing.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to becoming a therapist was deeply rooted in my own experiences of resilience and the desire to help others navigate their challenges. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the impact that mental health challenges can have on individuals and families, particularly in Black communities where there is often a stigma around seeking help. This sparked a passion in me to be a part of the solution and to create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported. What attracted me to a career as a therapist was the opportunity to be a catalyst for change in people’s lives. I was drawn to the idea of being able to provide the kind of support that can make a real difference, especially for those who may feel marginalized or misunderstood. I wanted to offer a culturally competent approach to therapy that resonates with the unique experiences of Black women and other underserved communities. What drives me to do this work is the belief that healing is possible for everyone and that therapy can be a powerful tool for transformation. I am motivated by the strength and resilience of my clients, and by the privilege of being part of their journey toward healing and growth. Each day, I am inspired by the courage of those who seek help, and I am committed to providing a safe, compassionate, and empowering space for them to explore and overcome their challenges.

My goals for you

When it comes to goal setting, I take a collaborative and client-centered approach. I begin by exploring the client’s vision for their life and well-being, ensuring that the goals we set are meaningful and aligned with their core values. Together, we identify current challenges and create SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals that provide a clear and structured path forward. I emphasize regular review and adjustment, recognizing that life is dynamic and goals may need to evolve. Throughout the process, I encourage self-reflection and provide consistent support and accountability, empowering clients to take ownership of their progress and personal growth.

My first session with you

In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming and open environment where we begin by building rapport and establishing trust. I'll take time to understand what brings you to therapy, including any specific challenges you're facing, and discuss your goals for our work together. We’ll explore your needs and start to outline a plan that aligns with your vision for growth and healing. This session is an opportunity for you to ask questions, share your story at your own pace, and begin the journey toward your personal and mental well-being.
