Hi there, I'm Elisa!

Hiya! My name is Elisa Fu, I am an LICSW in the state of Washington and I use a combined approach to therapy that is based on you, what you need using my 10+ years of motivational interviewing, EMDR, DBT, and trauma-informed lens.

My approach

I provide a refreshing pace based on what you need and my psychoeducation. I like to focus the first few sessions on building a foundation of trust, understanding, and information, and assessing your current ability to cope with the world. Then we can focus on enforcing and expanding that to assist in your journey of change. I adhere to the 8-step approach of EMDR for security in continuity. I interweave DBT, narrative structures, and CBT so that you can get all the comfort and progress necessary to minimize the stress in your world.

My focus

Clients tend to seek me out when they are looking for someone with experience in healing trauma wounds, finding who they are in the world and those on the cusp of change. I have experience working with clients with diagnoses like depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and borderline personality disorder.

My communication style

I have been told that I create a soothing and supportive environment but also the ability to share in the excitement of beginnings and change. Younger clients have described me as their weird friend who knows a lot about almost everything. Clients older than me have described me as refreshing, reassuring, and a new perspective.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have always wanted to help people. I can do this best during one-on-one interactions and over telehealth allows me to help more people- especially folks who are unable to seek in-person support.

My goals for you

Goal setting is something that is fluid and ever-changing. Typically clients come to me with a goal in mind- and it's 100% right if that goal changes. I tend to revisit goals every 60 days and sometimes more often if there is a life-changing event. In any case, goals are always up to you- what your biggest worry and struggle is right now and my goal is to support you wherever that leads.

My first session with you

The first session with me is focused on history background and understanding. Tell me what's going on in your world, what brought you to therapy, and what you want out of the experience. It can also be a great opportunity for you to ask about my experience and to determine if I am going to be the best fit for what's going on in your world.
