Hello, I am Charina Carothers (she/her), a licensed clinical social worker. The primary theoretical approach used at Providential Solutions is Systems Theory (recognizing the reciprocity of all elements within a system that is always shifting in an attempt to achieve homeostasis or balance).

My approach to therapy is rooted in Systems Theory, which recognizes that individuals are interconnected within complex systems, such as families or communities. This perspective allows me to understand how various factors, including relationships, environment, and personal history, influence a person's experiences. By focusing on the dynamics within these systems, I can explore how patterns of interaction and communication contribute to both challenges and strengths. This allows me to work collaboratively with service recipients to identify and address underlying issues, fostering healthier relationships and promoting overall well-being.

I strive to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for my clients. I believe in open and honest communication and encourage clients to express themselves freely, even when discussing difficult topics. My approach is direct and collaborative, focusing on understanding the underlying issues and working together to find solutions. I aim to create a space where clients feel empowered to explore their thoughts and feelings, ultimately leading to personal growth and well-being.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting is collaborative and person-centered. I believe in working closely with service recipients to identify their unique goals and develop a personalized plan to achieve them. We focus on setting SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) and breaking them down into smaller, more manageable steps. I also emphasize the importance of regular review and adjustment. As circumstances change or the perspective of those I support shifts, we can revisit and modify the goals to ensure they remain relevant and aligned with their needs. Additionally, I provide support and guidance throughout the process, helping service recipients overcome challenges and celebrate their achievements.
