Brenda Kotewa, PhD, is a Washington LMHC, Idaho LPC, and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I believe counseling is a powerful tool for self-discovery, identity affirmation, navigating life challenges, and building stronger relationships through collaboration. My specialties include disability, grief and loss, work/life balance, and spirituality.
My approach
I use a variety of approaches including Solution Focused, Mindfulness Cognitive Behavioral, and Narrative Therapy.
My focus
I have worked with clients of all ages. Whether you are navigating family, work, health, school issues, or making a life transition, I am here to help with stress, anxiety, depression, and grief.
My communication style
I believe in a collaborative approach that may feel much like a conversation. I let clients determine how much I listen, guide and ask questions to think about.
My journey to mental healthcare
Through my own challenges in life, and my experiences with both unhelpful and transformational therapists, I am drawn to this work to help others in their own journey. If my approach or skill set is not the perfect fit for you, I am dedicated to helping you find it. For me, it's all about the therapeutic relationship and how it works for you.
My goals for you
Clients are in control of their therapy goals. My role is to help break things down so clients can see their progress along the way.
My first session with you
I will ask questions about your life journey, major accomplishments, challenges, and relationships with family, friends, and others. Your life journey will help us determine how to approach your goals.
