My name is Jasmine Ricks, and I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist working with individuals in Virginia and Texas via telehealth. I work with adults specializing in relationships, self-worth, anxiety, stress, and transitions utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Family Systems to support clients.

My approach to therapy is relaxed, I am patient and prefer to consider my client's comfort level when tailoring my approach. I am also flexible in my approach depending on the client's needs. I implement a range of practical and evidence-based methods such as CBT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Narrative Therapy to name a few.

My journey to mental healthcare
I became a therapist to assist individuals access a more meaningful and fulfilling life. However, needing additional support to overcome challenges that have or currently impact them and hinder them from becoming their highest version of self. As a licensed professional and a woman who has personally overcome her own trauma experiences and struggles, my mission is to help other individuals utilizing my professional expertise and awareness to heal, grow, and overcome their own barriers to access a more meaningful and satisfying life.

My first session with you
What you can expect from our first session together is for us to spend time talking about your current experiences, and me asking questions to better understand you and what could be contributing to your current experiences. The first session is about us building a connection, discussing your hopes for therapy, and helping me get a sense of direction for our work together.
