Hi there, I'm Lisa!

Hello, my name is Lisa Hoffman. As a licensed Mental Health Counselor, I bring a client-centered approach to therapy, emphasizing empathy and collaboration. My areas of expertise encompass anxiety, ADHD, depression, mood disorders, and substance use.

My approach

I use an integrative therapeutic approach, drawing on various theoretical orientations to customize interventions for each client's unique needs. Methods include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Humanistic Therapy. While these are prominent in my work, I remain open to learning and incorporating new techniques to serve my clients best.

My focus

My client focus is on individuals who are struggling with a variety of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and trauma. I am most comfortable treating clients motivated to change and willing to engage in the therapeutic process. Everyone has the potential for growth and change, and I am committed to helping my clients reach their full potential.

My communication style

My client focuses on individuals seeking to improve their emotional well-being and relationships. I specialize in helping clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. I am passionate about creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I believe in empowering clients to develop the skills and insights they need to make positive life changes.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to becoming a therapist was fueled by a deep fascination with human behavior and the complexities of life that influence our choices for ourselves and others. From a young age, I observed how individuals navigate their unique challenges and sought to understand the underlying factors that shape our thoughts, emotions, and actions. This curiosity led me to pursue a career in therapy, where I could help individuals find clarity, growth, and healing. The opportunity to support clients on their journey of self-discovery and transformation drives me to do this work.

My goals for you

I assist clients in defining their objectives, decomposing them into manageable steps, crafting a comprehensive plan, and offering ongoing guidance. Acknowledge and celebrate their achievements.

My first session with you

During your initial session with me, you can expect a warm and welcoming environment where you'll feel safe and comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings. We will start by getting to know each other and discussing why you sought therapy. I'll ask questions to understand better your background, current challenges, and goals for treatment. This information will help me tailor our sessions to your specific needs. We'll also discuss confidentiality and the therapeutic process, and you'll have the opportunity to ask any questions. The goal of the first session is for us to build a strong foundation for our therapeutic relationship and for you to feel confident in the process moving forward.
