Are you feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and want to feel better? Are you experiencing complex thoughts or feelings, searching for meaning, or seeking clarity with a difficult decision? I offer a space where you can work through navigating life’s challenges in a compassionate, creative, and supportive manner.
My approach
I practice a humanistic approach to the therapy process, creating a space for you to feel heard and understood without judgment. As a licensed professional counselor and board-certified music therapist, I collaborate with individuals to support their goals and build tools to cope better with life’s challenges. In addition, I have completed training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy and often draw techniques from these approaches as well. I also believe in the healing power of music, yoga, and the arts. Music can be utilized in sessions to aid in promoting self-expression and self-awareness. Relaxation, guided imagery, and mindfulness techniques can be incorporated, as I also hold a 200-hour yoga teacher certification.
My focus
I often work with clients dealing with stress, whether related to a job, relational, illness, caregiving, or a life transition. I have experience working with a variety of people, including issues related to anxiety, depression, chronic illness, burnout, eating issues, grief, self-esteem, and spirituality, among others. I also have experience working with schizophrenia and psychotic disorders, Alzheimer’s and dementia, and their family members. I have worked with people across the lifespan and enjoy working with adults and young adults.
My communication style
I provide a warm approach where I take the time to listen and get to know you. I also incorporate techniques and strategies from different approaches to help increase self-awareness, self-compassion, and growth.
