Hannah Pinkston, an LPC in VA and TX, approaches therapy with a focus on the unique individual as their story and experiences are valid and central to the collaborative work.
My approach
I pull from a comprehensive, person-centered approach to therapy, prioritizes the overall well-being of the client that maintains alignment with their personal goals. I value effective, evidence-based methodology by staying up-to-date and educated on relevant studies and research. I often integrate several types of therapies including family systems, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, wholistic focused, solution-focused, and emotionally focused methods.
My focus
I typically work with individuals, couples, and families ages 18+. I have experience working with anger, anxiety, grief, life transitions, work-related stress, and interpersonal relationships.
My communication style
I strive to maintain a genuine, caring, and welcoming atmosphere for a strong and collaborative counseling relationship to flourish.
My journey to mental healthcare
My passion for listening, and understanding others started when I was a teenager within the unconventional office that was my ‘88 Acura Integra, fondly dubbed the “Cone of Silence” by all who came seeking a listening ear and shoulder to lean on. Those experiences, coupled with the lack of mental health discussion and validation through the formative years, drove me to earn a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University to reach those beyond my passenger seat.
My goals for you
Goal setting is collaborative. I listen first and foremost, and then collaborate with the client to make sure they are on the same page moving forward as well as tending to what is important to them.
My first session with you
Clients can expect a non-judgmental, safe, and open environment in the first and every session following.
