She has been providing supervision for over 5 years. Shane is an empathetic Clinical Supervisor and Therapist with a record of successful Mental Health Counseling experiences working with children, adolescents as well as adults, addressing Depression, Anxiety, Anger Management, Low self-esteem, Poor Communication Skills, Interpersonal relationships, and Social Skills. She has spent over 15 years serving in Out Patient settings, Residential Facilities, Intensive In-Home, and Therapeutic Day Treatment.
My approach
Shane obtains a certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Practitioner as well as utilizes the following counseling methodologies; but, not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy tools, Strength Focused Based, Behavioral Modification, and Reality Therapy. Shane presents as passionate about exploring the individual as well as the family system as a whole promoting overall psychosocial well-being. Currently, she is approved by the Virginia Board of Counseling to provide supervision for CSAC candidates as well as Resident in Counselors and QMHPs. Supervision styles such as Humanistic and Person-Centered are implemented while addressing, including but not limited to Treatment planning, completing Biopsychosocial assessments, Risks assessments, Patient Health screening, Generalized Anxiety Assessments, Safety plans, and Progress note writing.
