I earned my bachelor’s degree at Utah Valley State College in Behavioral Science in 2002 and my Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Utah in 2005. I am a LCSW and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. I am trained in CBT, play therapy, sand tray therapy, art therapy, EMDR and parent coaching.

My focus
I have experience working with children, teens and adults with a variety of conditions including attachment problems, ADHD, oppositional defiant behaviors, and issues around self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and adjustment.
My communication style
I believe the client is the best expert on themselves and value their input. I am validating and offer skills and ideas when the client requests. I believe that clients have the ability to heal and improve their lives and like to provide the support they need to discover their own inner abilities.
My journey to mental healthcare
I've always been interested in human behavior and what makes people tick. I love to help people and believe I have a natural ability for empathy and compassion. I've had experiences with many family members having mental health concerns which created a desire to learn more and help.
My goals for you
I ask questions to determine what they most want from therapy and in their lives. I like to review goals and progress each session adjust as needed and celebrating improvements.
My first session with you
An open, kind, and compassionate conversation about what their current situation is and what they are looking for in therapy. I also screen for any crisis situation that may need immediate intervention for safety.
