Hi! My name is Mary Robinson and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My approach to therapy is to identify what goals you have for internal growth and help you work towards that self reflection and put it into action.
My approach
I like working with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused, Narrative, and EMDR.
My focus
I have experience working with clients who have experienced trauma such as domestic violence, child abuse, and sexual abuse. I have advanced training in perinatal mental health and enjoy working with parents. I also have experience working with clients around grief and loss.
My communication style
I like to encourage my clients to do the work of therapy. I want you to get everything you need from our sessions to graduate therapy. That means that I will help you identify areas you want to work on and create a plan to help you pursue those changes.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was drawn to therapy because of the special relationship that forms between therapist and client. It's a privilege to hold space for someones story, their pain, and their triumphs. I love watching the growth of people from self actualization to change.
My goals for you
We will set goals together and be realistic about change.
My first session with you
My first session with clients I like to get to know a little about you, and what brings you to therapy, as well as get a psychological and social history.
