Hi, my name is Treasa Lewis and I am a licensed therapist. I first got into this field because of my own experiences with trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, hearing loss, a child of an addict, codependency and attachment issues. I realized that I can help others try to understand, feel validated and realize they are not alone in the struggle of finding their true authentic self.
My approach
Everyone has parts of themselves that due to self preservation they had to suppress. In order to keep suppressing emotions they develop a negative core belief that shapes the way they see themselves, their world and the people in it. I use a variety of approaches and interventions to help you tap into the parts of you that are stuck and provide compassionate guidance to validate and heal those parts of you.
My focus
I have worked in addiction, codependency, attachment issues, depression, anxiety, personality disorders with individuals, couples, youth and ages ranging from 13 to 68 years old.
My communication style
I provide and cultivate a supportive, empathetic, validating environment and experience. Clients feel comfortable to explore their feelings and behaviors which include digging into (childhood and past experiences), and teaches techniques to handle difficult situations.
My journey to mental healthcare
I first got into this field because of my own experiences with trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, hearing loss, a child of an addict, codependency and attachment issues. I learned that I have my own limiting beliefs and where they came from and I want to help others identify their own rooted beliefs and behaviors.
My goals for you
I guide you toward identifying their most pressing goals, and create SMART objectives in order to see progress. I will provide homework, suggestions, recommendations and psychoeducation to help guide their motivation.
My first session with you
First session is spent getting to know one another and help identify what they need to feel comfortable, and to grow.
