Hi, my name is Ada Heninger, I have an LCSW license and my approach to therapy is client centered. The focus areas of practice for me are trauma, grief and loss, domestic violence survivor, adult, and teens.
My approach
My approach to therapy is to guide the client through their healing process using CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) with trauma informed practice. I also include mindfulness, family systems, motivational interviewing, narrative, solution focused, skills based, interpersonal relationships and insight-oriented forms of practice.
My focus
I typically work with adults or teens who struggle with past trauma in their life, anxiety, depression and PTSD are common diagnosis.
My communication style
I like to guide my client through their individual process of healing with support encouragement and insight. Working with me will be a collaborative process.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always enjoyed working with people and was drawn to the field of social work from an early age. I have spent the majority of my career focusing on children, teens and families and worked in various settings including outpatient mental health, community mental health, private practice and even some in-home services.
My goals for you
I work collaboratively with my client in the goal setting process and work to make sure that all goals relate directly to the client in regard to their individual mental health needs.
My first session with you
During our first session, I will be getting to know my client, assessing their history, background and relevant information to gain a complete understanding of their unique and individual mental health needs.
