Hi there, I'm Lesa!

Hi, my name is Lesa! I am an LPC, with a MS in Counseling from Texas A&M – Commerce. I am a counselor who is passionate about supporting all of my clients through challenges to experience healing and growth in their lives.

My approach

My approach to therapy is client-centered. I will meet you with empathy and open-mindedness. I will work collaboratively with you to identify treatment priorities and create a warm and supportive environment where you feel safe exploring challenges. By focusing on solutions and actively involving you in the therapeutic process, I encourage you to identify your strengths and develop practical strategies for change. My affirming approach ensures that you feel respected and valued, fostering a relationship that promotes growth and healing.

My focus

In my practice, I typically work with clients facing a range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, grief, and relational concerns. I have extensive experience supporting married couples and addressing family issues, and I take pride in the success my clients achieve through our work together. With a strong background in crisis counseling and experience in various agencies, I bring a compassionate and effective approach to my private practice, helping individuals and families navigate their unique struggles and foster lasting change.

My communication style

In my counseling sessions, I prioritize creating a warm and welcoming environment that encourages trust and openness. I strive to make clients feel at ease, allowing them to express their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. By fostering a safe space, I empower clients to explore their challenges and experiences, facilitating meaningful conversations that promote healing and personal growth.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to becoming a therapist began with my natural inclination to be the person others turn to with their deepest struggles. I have always had a heart for people and a desire to be part of the solution to life's challenges. It deeply resonates with me to provide a listening ear and a compassionate heart to those in need. I believe that everyone is important and deserves to know they are more than their problems. My passion drives me to help others lead fulfilling lives, and I aspire to be a small part of the positive change in the world.

My goals for you

I approach goal setting with my clients collaboratively, ensuring that their goals reflect their unique needs and aspirations. I encourage them to articulate their objectives and break larger goals into manageable steps, which helps track progress and celebrate small victories. This supportive process empowers clients to take an active role in their growth and development.

My first session with you

You can expect a deeper understanding of how your thoughts influence your emotions and behaviors, to challenge negative patterns. Additionally, you will learn practical coping strategies and problem-solving skills that you can apply in your daily life. Our work will help you recognize your strengths and build confidence in your ability to handle challenges.
