Hola - I am Juan Ortiz! I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC). At times you just want to be heard and that is exactly what I provide. I am along for the ride, but keep in mind you are in the driver's seat and ultimately only you can pick your final destination. I truly believe in the power of the 'here and now' and believe that you can consciously make efforts to reach happiness, whatever that happiness may look like for you.
My approach
I have worked with individuals experiencing: depression, anxiety, stress management, trauma, relationship issues, and gender identity. I meet you where you are in your life at the present time. Together, we identify what you want to change in your life and work on your conscious mind to condition new positive, capable thoughts followed by purposeful decisions to achieve the change you desire. My therapeutic style and approach are influenced by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness.
My focus
I enjoy working with clients who are aware that they are in therapy to do work! Although difficult at times, I aim to foster an open and supportive environment that in turn helps you express yourself openly and with autonomy.

My journey to mental healthcare
I have always enjoyed helping others and being a source of support. I also believe we all need to be heard at times and self-expression can be difficult depending on the person, place, situation, etc.; therefore, I am an advocate for mental health and well-being and believe it should be a priority. The pursuit of happiness is what drives me - I truly believe that whatever form you believe happiness to be, you deserve it!
