My name is Tiffany Murphy, LCSW, LCDC. I focus on mental health and substance use, specifically chemical dependence. I also specialize in trauma therapy within the adult population.
My approach
I will use a CBT/DBT approach to therapy. I will also use motivational interviewing to enhance treatment outcomes while upholding a supportive therapy framework.
My focus
I have a history of working with younger to older adulthood populations with varying diagnoses. I am most comfortable working with those who are motivated for treatment and with mild to moderate acuity.
My communication style
My communication style is direct, yet empowering. I will hold my people accountable while keeping in mind they simply have problems that warrant solutions.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became interested in becoming a therapist by design. I believe it was always in my future to serve others and enjoy the experiences that come with that.
My goals for you
I will use a motivational interviewing approach where I assess for Stage of Change. I, also, will offer validating insight while exploring goal setting.
My first session with you
Client shall expect to discuss their reasons for seeking treatment, an understanding of the therapeutic alliance, their goals to reach, and how I as their clinician will assist them.
