Hi there, I'm Alexia!

My name is Alexia Florentin and I am a bilingual mental health therapist dually licensed as both an LPC and LCDC in Texas. I specialize in helping individuals and families navigate complex emotional landscapes, particularly those dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, substance use disorders, and immigration & acculturation. My therapeutic approach is rooted in fostering resilience and hope, empowering clients to find clarity and strength in the face of adversity.

My approach

Through a solution-focused, person-centered, and growth-mindset approach, I deliver effective and unique interventions to individuals, couples, and families based on their specific mental health needs. As a Latina immigrant myself, I also understand how immigration, acculturation, trauma, and generational struggles affect my Spanish-speaking clientele.

My focus

I work with teens and adults and provide individual, couples, and family therapy. I am bilingual and can also provide therapy in Spanish.

My communication style

My intention as a therapist is to always provide a safe, private, and confidential space for my clients to share whatever is going on in their lives. As a therapist, I won't "try to fix you", tell you what to do, or make the hard stuff go away. I am here to remind you that you aren't broken, to give you room to access your own wisdom, to support you in figuring out what to do, and to remind you that only YOU know what is best for you.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey as a therapist began with being the "sounding board" for my friends, sparking my interest in psychology and leading me to pursue a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. With a strong focus on Latinx representation and contribution to the counseling field, I furthered my education and enhanced my skills with the pursuit of a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. My drive as a therapist comes from a deep commitment to helping individuals find healing and resilience during their most challenging times and witnessing the transformative power of therapy fuels my passion for this work!

My goals for you

My philosophy is that we all have strengths; and together we can create a safe, confidential, and uplifting environment in which to find these strengths while healing, learning, growing, and discovering a better way forward - because YOU ARE ENOUGH.

My first session with you

A first session with me entails me holding space for you while you share a little bit about yourself, your background, and what brings you to therapy.
