My name is La'Constica Smith. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I approach therapy as a 2-way partnership with open communication in a safe environment. I treat a variety of mental health diagnoses including but not limited to depression, anxiety, trauma, divorce, ADHD, and ODD.
My approach
I typically use Solution Focused Therapy, CBT, Structural Family Therapy, REBT, and motivational interviewing.

My communication style
My goal is to create a safe and supportive, empathetic, and collaborative environment. My goal is to make the environment comfortable enough to promote healthy expressions of thoughts, emotions, and concerns without judgment.
My journey to mental healthcare
I grew up in a community where mental health was labeled as "cliche". I watched as many people's lives were destroyed because it was not addressed. I believe a lot of the silent battles could have been addressed with problem-solving, effective communication, and therapy. I started researching ways I can improve the stigma and awareness in the community, and here I am today.
My goals for you
My approach is grounded in active listening and understanding to ensure the person served feels heard and valued throughout the goal-setting interaction to create realistic, measurable, and person-centered goals based on expressed needs and treatment options.
My first session with you
Clients should expect an initial introduction, review confidentiality, start establishing a therapeutic relationship to set the foundation for the therapeutic process.
