I am a bilingual, licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience working with individuals, parents, children, and families through community organizations. I specialize in working with women and children survivors of crime, domestic violence, and abuse issues.
My approach
My approach to therapy is solution-focused, strength-based, and trauma-informed. I draw upon modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Motivational Interviewing. I provide culturally sensitive and person-centered care, adapting my approach to meet the unique needs of each client. Christian-based counseling is also available for those seeking to integrate their faith with the therapeutic process.
My focus
I work with individuals of all ages, including adolescents/teens, adults, couples, and families. Areas of focus include anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship issues, parenting, self-esteem, and coping with chronic illness or pain. I have extensive experience supporting women and children impacted by abuse, neglect, and domestic violence.
My communication style
My communication style is warm, empathetic, and collaborative. I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and validated. Through active listening and thoughtful questions, I help clients gain clarity, identify strengths, and develop practical strategies for reaching their goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey to mental healthcare began with a deep desire to empower individuals and families to overcome challenges and live their best lives. For over two decades, I've had the privilege of working in various community organizations, school settings, and prevention programs. From 2004-2006, I completed my clinical hours for licensure, gaining invaluable experience supporting diverse populations.
My goals for you
My goal is to help you navigate life's challenges with resilience, self-awareness, and a renewed sense of purpose. Whether you're facing a difficult transition, struggling with anxiety or depression, healing from trauma, or seeking personal growth, I'm here to support you every step of the way. Together, we'll identify your unique strengths, develop coping strategies, and create a roadmap for achieving your goals and living a more fulfilling life.
My first session with you
During our first session, we'll take time to explore what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. I'll gather some background information and answer any questions you may have about the therapeutic process. Most importantly, we'll begin building a trusting relationship that will serve as the foundation for our work together. You can expect a warm, supportive environment where you feel safe to share your experiences and start your journey towards healing and growth.
