Anthony is a Dual-Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. Anthony completed his master’s degree in social work at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. Anthony has served adults, adolescents, and families who suffer from a variety of mental health illnesses and individuals with substance abuse.
My approach
Anthony uses various therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
My focus
Anthony has had the privilege of working with clients who have had various problems, concerns, and needs. Generally speaking, Anthony sees clients who have faced challenges with communication, depression, anxiety, grief, identity issues, relationship problems, self-esteem, finances, stress, and male issues.
My communication style
Anthony is patient, understanding, nonjudgemental, empathic, and a good listener. Anthony believes that everyone has a story and unique experiences that have brought them to therapy. Anthony is supportive and works to instill hope from a solution-focused perspective. Anthony focuses on improving and enhancing the emotional stability, social well-being, spiritual fitness, and physical health of individuals and families. Working with Anthony is like having a conversation with someone you can trust to be open and honest to guide you to your desired goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
Anthony expresses his desire to help others who have struggled with mental health issues and to make a positive impact on people's lives and well-being. Like many others, Anthony has experienced and witnessed distressing events that have helped shape him into the person he is today. Anthony has experienced, anxiety, and depression and has overcome some devastating challenges in his journey to becoming a therapist. Anthony has developed a true relationship with himself and has found meaning and purpose in his suffering that he loves to share with others as a therapist.

Anthony believes that goal setting is a collaborative step-by-step process. Start by identifying what are your hopes, choose a theme to focus on, narrow the focus down to a specific goal, make the goal measurable and SMART, and make an action plan to track and reach your goals.
My first session with you
Anthony describes the initial therapy session as an opportunity to get to know each other and explore how to proceed in future sessions. Future sessions will be more therapeutic, where we will discuss a specific symptom, problem, or traumatic experience from the first session.
