Lizette Garcia, #77863. I decided to pour myself into years studying Counseling Psychology in Texas. I studied professionals from all fields which helped me understand how to break family dysfunction and to better myself individually. I had to learn to better understand human interactions individually and in a family system. Having years of experience doing counseling and working on my own family I have learned that I can keep taking steps to towards hope to create positive permanent change.
My approach
Some of my approaches to providing therapy are the following: Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is integrated to help clients identify and replace negative thought patterns and behaviors, it breaks down problems into smaller parts and helps clients change negative patterns to improve their overall feelings. My experience with treating clients with trauma and PTSD involves a multi-faceted, individualized approach that emphasizes safety, evidence-based interventions, and the gradual processing of traumatic memories. The goal is to reduce symptoms, restore functioning, and empower clients to lead fulfilling lives. Family therapy is used to enhance the ability of family members to express themselves openly and respectfully by addressing and resolving ongoing conflicts in a healthy manner. The goal is to build stronger, more supportive relationships within the family. In my therapy sessions, I integrate Solution-Focused Therapy with a strong emphasis on directiveness, integrity, and truth. By guiding clients toward their goals with clear, actionable steps, I ensure that each session is focused and productive. My approach is rooted in honesty and transparency, allowing clients to confront their challenges directly while fostering an environment of trust. To empower clients to recognize and build upon their strengths but also ensure that the therapeutic process remains grounded in reality, leading to meaningful and lasting change. I established a practice that honors God and shares the wisdom I've gained by integrating God's Word with complementary clinical solutions. My goal is to collaboratively work with you to transform long-standing behavior patterns and negative perceptions that may be holding you back, guiding you closer to God, who ultimately directs your path.
My focus
In my life, hope is not an end but a beginning. I have the power of choice. Fueled by hope, which is the belief that things will get better, I decided to focus on doing what it took to change my life. My road to hope helped me see and pursue solutions that were hidden behind a thick fog of despair due to growing up in a dysfunctional home. One thing I tell others is “you cannot give to others what you haven’t been taught”. My parents lack the hope to break the cycle of dysfunction of their past family upbringing. I believe my parents forgot they had a choice to change things. I have worked on my own self and connected this variety of work with my own experience in the therapy room and integrated it by bringing hope into my daily practice with clients. This has resulted directly in my extremely high success rate for both individual and family satisfaction levels.
My communication style
The communication style and environment I create for my session include compassion, perseverance, kindness, integrity, determination, courage, trustworthiness, empathy, and understanding.

My goals for you
My goal is to collaboratively work with you to transform long-standing behavior patterns and negative perceptions that may be holding the client back from their full potential in different areas of their lives.
My first session with you
During a first session with me, clients can expect an atmosphere of compassion, perseverance, kindness, integrity, determination, courage, trustworthiness, empathy, and understanding. We will work together to set their counseling goals collaboratively, ensuring that their needs and desires are at the forefront of the process. I am committed to listening to their story, focusing on their reasons for seeking counseling and creating a supportive environment where they feel heard and valued.
