It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life, and I am here to support and empower you in that journey.
My approach
I am a hollistic therapist. My therapeutic approaches include Client-Centered, CBT, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I primarily use CBT.
My focus
I specialize in helping female clients with stress, anxiety, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, co-dependency, self-love, sef-compassion, self-awareness, depression, relationship issues, body dysmorphia, and life changes.
My communication style
When working with me, expect a calm, patient, and professional tone. You'll feel confident navigating life's challenges with my guidance.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became a therapist because my father, a Vietnam veteran, suffered from PTSD and I wanted to have the skills to help him. My second reason for choosing this profession was to help others acquire the tools they need to navigate life's challenges. What motivates me to do this work is the satisfaction of watching others achieve their objectives and acquire the skills necessary to cope with mental illness. It's important to understand that mental illness is a condition that can be recognized and managed by learning coping mechanisms to help you move past the symptoms, but it does not define who you are.
My goals for you
When it comes to goal setting with a client, I approach it through a collaborative conversation that is focused on the person's needs. We start by brainstorming actionable objectives, and then we identify realistic and specific goals. After that, we break down those goals into smaller steps and identify any possible obstacles that may arise. Finally, we schedule a timeframe to work towards achieving those goals.
My first session with you
During your first therapy session, it is important to understand that your therapist is legally bound to maintain the confidentiality of your personal health information, as required by HIPAA laws. In order to proceed with the assessment, you will be asked to provide your consent. Your therapist will likely ask you many questions to better understand your personal history, coping mechanisms, symptoms, and what your goals are for therapy.
