My Name is Velinecia McNair and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am a caring a compassionate therapist and I am excited about helping you to become the best version of yourself. My primary areas of focus are working with children and adolescents to address issues such as anxiety, depression, grief/loss, anger management, and stress management.
My approach
Some of my many approaches to therapy include talk therapy, play therapy, CBT, person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, and strengths-based therapy.
My focus
I typically work with children and adolescents, working through issues such as ADD/ADHD, anxiety, depression, ODD, grief/loss, and anger management.
My communication style
During therapy sessions, I prefer to allow clients to guide the session and I like to assert communication when needed verbally. Out of session, I am most responsive to email communication.
My goals for you
Through Goal exploration and determination of which goal is most immediate for attainment for the client.
My first session with you
During the first session, I like to go through introductions, therapist/client expectations, explore client needs/desires from therapy, introduction of goal exploration, and safety planning (as needed).
