My focus
Dr. Owens treats people between the ages of 17 to 65 with conditions such as ADHD, Anxiety, Bipolar, Insomnia, Depression, Schizoaffective disorder, Schizophrenia, and other mental illnesses
My communication style
We have a great welcoming environment with no distractions, where privacy and confidentiality are highly maintained (Patients can feel relaxed and comfortable).
My journey to mental healthcare
Working at the hospital as a Clinical Coordinator/House supervisor exposed me to everyday people with mental health issues. Co-workers, friends, neighbors, family members as well as patients suffering in silence, dealing with depression, anxiety, bipolar, and many other mental health issues. I lost a friend who was dealing with depression.
My goals for you
Allowing not more than 2-3 goals keeps them from becoming overwhelmed. If patients can practice healthy habits 90% of the time, they will realize health benefits. Practically relaxing 10% of the time is more likely to lead to success.
My first session with you
In your first session, I'll ensure all the initial paperwork, consent forms are signed including insurance information and basic questionnaires about your family history and personal health. I'll then ask why you're seeking therapy and what you hope to achieve.
