I'm Javiola Castillo, a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor who works with both adolescents and adults. I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology, with over eight years of experience. I've had the privilege of helping clients navigate challenges such as trauma, substance use, depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders.
My approach
In my approach to therapy, I strive to create a supportive, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions. I take an eclectic approach to therapy, meaning I draw from a variety of theoretical frameworks to best meet each client’s unique needs. This approach allows me to assess the unique problems and situations of each client. Having this flexibility ensures that I am able to tailor my approach to my clients, contributing to a more personalized experience.
My focus
I work with both adults and adolescents who need help in dealing with challenges such as trauma, substance use, depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders.
My communication style
My therapeutic approach is relaxed, and centered on respect, empathy, and compassion. When you work with me, you can expect a supportive, adaptive, and holistic experience focused on fostering personal growth, resilience, and overall well-being.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey to becoming a therapist began with the desire to help others. I was always fascinated by the human experience—what makes us who we are, how we cope with challenges, and how we find meaning and joy in life. This curiosity and compassion naturally led me to the field of psychology.
My goals for you
When it comes to goal setting with clients, I take a collaborative and supportive approach. I believe that effective goal setting should be a partnership between the therapist and the client. Together, we explore what the client hopes to achieve and identify meaningful and realistic goals that align with their values and needs.
My first session with you
My approach is collaborative, so I encourage clients to ask questions and share what they’re looking for in a therapeutic relationship. We’ll work together to establish initial goals and begin exploring how we can best tailor the therapy to meet their unique needs.
