Hi there, I'm Tiffany! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas. I have several years of experience working with clients on issues relating to behavior concerns, stress and anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, family conflict, parenting issues, and everyday life stressors. I help children, adolescents, adults, and couples. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I have worked with individuals, couples, and families from various social and economic backgrounds, cultures, and spiritual backgrounds. My warm, direct approach will help you address your concerns and develop appropriate solutions to assist you with navigating life in the healthiest way possible.
My approach
The most common theoretical approaches I utilize are cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, mindfulness, and solution-based therapy.
My focus
I work with children, adolescents, and adults whose typical concerns are Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Past Trauma, Family Issues, Relationship Issues, Parenting Concerns, Childhood Issues, Self-Esteem, Focus/Concentration, Behavioral Concerns, and difficulties adjusting to various life stressors.
My communication style
I provide a warm, encouraging, empathetic atmosphere and use a collaborative approach to work with you. As your therapist, my goal is to provide you with a safe space where you feel comfortable and help you get to a place where you can work towards healing to say goodbye to anger, lack of focus, sadness, fear and anxiety and say hello to peace, hope, love and joy. If you are ready to take the next steps, please reach out to me so that we can walk through this journey together.
My journey to mental healthcare
I realized I wanted to become a therapist after my first year of college. Friends and acquaintances would tell me their stories, would enjoy and benefit from the insights I gave, and would often make this career suggestion for me. I have always been a good friend, a trusted listener, and dependable. So, I followed their advice and I'm so glad I did. I love helping and supporting others!
My goals for you
Goal setting may or may not happen during the first session. If a client already has their goals in mind, we speak about those very early and begin developing a plan together to help the client reach those goals. If a client does not have any goals in mind, we begin by discussing what their needs are, and then base goals based on those needs.
My first session with you
In your first session, we will explore any past experiences in therapy and what brought you to therapy, then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. We will also discuss the root cause of the presenting issue at hand and work together to address that presenting issue(s) in sessions in order to clear anything that is preventing you from accomplishing your goals in therapy.
