Tracey Johnson, LPC. I strive to provide a safe space for all clients to express their feelings and experiences, in the comfort of their own home. I work with individuals who struggle with anxiety, stress, anger, self-confidence, grief, and exposure to trauma.
My approach
My counseling methodologies are Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT) and Solution-Focused (SFBT), but I also use other approaches to meet individual needs, including mindfulness/stress reduction techniques.
My focus
I have over 20 years of experience helping adolescents and teens, along with a few years of experience working with adults. I work with individuals who struggle with anxiety, stress, anger, self-confidence, grief, and exposure to trauma.
My communication style
With years of experience, my approach is tailored to meet your unique needs, offering a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your strengths and challenges. I offer a space for clients to come and get the help they need by actively listening to them and offering them coping skills.
My journey to mental healthcare
I started out as a school counselor with a private practice on the side. I realized that working with clients one-on-one was where my passion was, so I am now in private practice full-time. I worked with kids ages 4-12 for many years and then started seeing adults in my private practice, so I have experience with ages 4-40.
My goals for you
I like to help clients come up with their own goals that will help them heal and grow. We will talk about their goals as we go along in our sessions to see how they are progressing. It's not pressured, but merely helping clients feel better about themselves and their lives.
My first session with you
We will start to build a rapport with each other by getting to know each other. I try to make my clients feel comfortable and let them know they can talk to me about anything without judgment. I also like to use humor to make them more at ease.
