My name is Lisa LaSalle and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas. I work from a client-centered, trauma-informed approach utilizing primarily CBT, DBT, and workbooks as an adjunct. My specific areas of focus include trauma, depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, body image, anger management, domestic violence, and sexual assault.

My focus
The clients that I work with are ages 9 and up and their conditions include trauma, depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, body image issues, self-harm, anger management, domestic violence, and sexual assault.
My communication style
As previously stated, I utilize a client-centered approach to counseling. I like to involve the client in treatment planning, the focus of treatment, and the ultimate outcomes that they desire to achieve for themselves. I attempt to create a safe place for processing emotion through establishing a good rapport. I am empathetic, compassionate, nondirect, and nonjudgmental.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always been an extremely empathetic and compassionate person. I have experienced trauma throughout my life and wanted to help others overcome adversity. I enjoy working with others to help them understand how their story affects who they are as individuals and to process those unresolved emotions that prevent them from living the life that they desire.
My goals for you
I work collaboratively with the client to identify the outcomes that they would like to achieve. Based on their desired outcomes and their diagnosis, the goals for treatment are established.
My first session with you
I like to do a comprehensive assessment which includes childhood, family of origin, any traumatic experiences, their academic life, education, employment, current relationships, a history of relationships, support system, mental health history, family's mental health, substance use, and medical history.
