Hey! My name is Will Graham, and I am a licensed professional counselor who wants to assist individuals in becoming better at life. I approach therapy with the concept that we must create goals to feel accomplished and confident in ourselves; simultaneously, becoming an expert in our self-development.
My approach
My approach is always to meet the client where they are emotionally and comprehensibly. I want to make sure comfort and rapport are established to make communication easier.
My focus
I work with individuals dealing with acuities such as anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders. I have extensive experience working with athletes and fitness enthusiasts assisting them with on and off-the-field issues.
My communication style
Most clients and friends will describe me as very easygoing and relaxed. I'm not here to tell anyone what to do! I'm more of an attentive ear to guide people to figure out what they need for themselves by guiding conversations, asking the right questions, encouraging, and being suggestive when required.
My journey to mental healthcare
With 15 years of personal training, yoga teaching, and lifestyle fitness coaching, I drifted back into my clinical therapy work when I realized that my gift for helping people was more holistic than unilateral. I completed my master's degree in 2012 and I knew I wanted to merge my fitness expertise with my clinical education and license resulting in my current work. Fitness and exercise are the best ways to control anxiety and depression.
My goals for you
My goal-setting format is the SMART acronym. Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound.
My first session with you
The first session should be an anticipation of getting to know and gaining trust in each other. The initial intake is my opportunity to ask the correct questions and understand what is needed to resolve the current issues being experienced.
