My name is Kimberly Stewart and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), located in Clarksville, Tennessee. I provide Telehealth to clients across the state. I work with adults and I also see couples as well. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, the Gottman Approach, as well as a variety of other techniques to address the client's presenting issues.
My approach
I provide a patchwork approach because I feel each client needs an individualized treatment plan. What works for some, might not work for others; however, it is my mission to target the tools that will help each client to achieve their goals. Common modalities that I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Process Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Gottman Approach, and Problem Solving Therapy. These approaches can address a variety of mental health issues.
My focus
I have experience working with a variety of presenting issues. My focus is with adults and couples struggling with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, parenting and life transitions.
My communication style
I provide a comfortable, nonjudgmental environment. I have been described as empathic, kind, but direct in my approach. I strive to build a working relationship with my clients where honesty and openness is present.
My journey to mental healthcare
Changing thoughts and behaviors is not an easy task, if it were I would not have a job. However, with a little work and guidance, change is possible. I love my job because I get to see that transformation in so many of my clients. Everyone struggles at times and it is okay to reach out for help if you need it.
My goals for you
I use a client led approach to goal setting. After identifying the areas that need improvement with the client, together we create goals based on the accessed needs.
My first session with you
During the first session a client can expect to give a brief background of what led them to seek therapy services. Additionally, it will be an open space to get familiar with one another while identifying and creating goals.
