I am Al Thomas. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Hypnotherapist. My primary focus is normalizing therapy in the Black community through using evidence-based practices to help those facing anxiety, trauma and other life stressors.

I combine Motivational Interviewing with Ericksonian Hypnotherapy principles to help create emotional and behavioral changes.

My approach is a laid back and reserved approach. Working with me allows you to feel comfortable and not pressured. This is a relationship.
My journey to mental healthcare
I began pursuing a career as a therapist after realizing becoming a software engineer did not fulfill me in the way listening to others and helping them work through concerns and seeing them appreciate the progress they have made.
My goals for you
I gather information for goals theough Motivational Interviewing strategies, using the clients' verbiage to develop their individual goals.
My first session with you
Clients can expect to work with someone who does not approach them as if they have all the answers. They will be getting someone who works collaboratively with them to move them towards a healthier version of themself.
