My journey to mental healthcare
I am a natural-born helper. I have always known I wanted to be in the helping profession. I have always been a helper since a young age and people have always come to me for support and helpful discussions. I originally planned to go into psychology but quickly shifted to social work as this offers a holistic framework that incorporates the whole person and environment approach. I have worked in Care management and hospice/medical social work for many years. I hold certifications in trauma-informed practice, dementia, and helping caregivers. I find it honorable to have people trust and allow me to support, validate, and help them at some of the most vulnerable times in their lives. Working in hospice and care management has shaped my practice of helping people be present and work through the barriers that prevent them from living a life with joy and balance. It has given me a unique perspective on quality of life.
My goals for you
We will be working together to tailor therapeutic tools to help you meet your goals. We will work together to do what works best for you.
My first session with you
The initial session will be us getting to know each other and taking time for you to ask questions and start to gain more knowledge about the therapy process. We will take some time to talk about why you have decided to seek support and what your goals are.
