Kelly Valente is a licensed marriage and family therapist. She holds a master’s degree in psychology and a master’s in marriage and family therapy. She has practiced as a licensed marriage and family therapist working in the mental health field since 2015 and has provided counseling and case management services to children, adults, and families in a variety of unique settings. Kelly has been involved in developing and implementing programs throughout her career, with a focus on mood disorders, couples, communication, substance use, values, grief and loss, and other psychosocial topics. Integrative therapy is an individualized, holistic approach to therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic schools of thought all dependent on the needs of the clients. depending on the unique needs of a given client.
My approach
Kelly’s approach is integrative in that it is individualized and combines a variety of ideas and techniques from various therapeutic schools. Her approach is compassionate and responsive to each person’s individual needs, meeting them where they are in their journey and helping them move from surviving to thriving in their everyday. Tools, she finds herself frequently utilizing include CBT, DBT, Narrative, Solution Focused, and ACT.

Kelly’s focus is on the client’s goals rather than the problem. She helps the clients learn to identify and focus on strengths and the skills, resources, and coping abilities to reach their goals. She helps the clients identify what they want to happen in their lives, work with them to find solutions, and determine how they can use their resources to solve their problems.

When working with clients, Kelly strives to create a supportive and collaborative environment. Her approach is empathetic, adaptable, and focused on understanding her client's needs. Whether it’s brainstorming ideas, solving problems, or providing guidance, she aims to be helpful and engaging and explore the client's questions together!
My journey to mental healthcare
Her motivation to become a therapist comes from her profound passion for assisting people in overcoming obstacles in life, her conviction that effective communication is essential, and her dedication to personal development. It was about providing a secure and supportive space where people may examine their innermost feelings, ideas, and experiences to encourage resilience, positive transformation, and the ability of others to have happy, meaningful lives.
My goals for you
Kelly utilizes collaborative goal setting and works with the client to establish specific, measurable, relevant, achievable, and time-bound smart goals. She feels this is an excellent way to create a roadmap for the therapeutic process with a clear endpoint to work towards.
My first session with you
The first session will be used to gather information to get a snap snapshot of her client's life so that together they can determine what is working well and what is not. Together they will take the information and come up with a plan to help the client better manage what is going on in their life.
